Search Engines Marketing act as a skills, a strategy, a knowledge an experience or an opportunity. Or can be described as any terms as it make different defination for each different individual or respective businesses as it might served different purpose as a whole. However, the universal language to SEM in simple language is the art of getting a web page listed high in the search engine results pages to drive people to a particular web page.

There are millions of sites out there has been ignored by it’s main objective of it’s existance. A Website acting as a Business or Marketing Tools to most of the businesses. These sites are either being ignored because of its infancy in SEO or mainly it has to be there because the rest are already there.

I am here share some thoughts on how a site should be taken care of and these guidelines might be usefull for those who are still new in SEO. I have tried this “formula” and it’s tooks 4 days for a new site to be indexed by Search Engines.

Part 1 (BUSINESS REVIEW)
Know Your Business – It’s important for all businesses to know it’s own direction and obejctive. Who are your competitors, your target market segment.

Know Your Prospects – Get to know who are your prospects and how your prospect behave on your products and services offered.

Set Your Goal – A business should have primary and secondary goals. Make the priorty and focus your strategies and resources towards the goal.

Set Your Marketing Budget and Timeline – SEM or SEO need time, effort, energy and resources to be spent. Plan your budget and timeframe in order to achieve the goal set.

Revise and Evaluation – Evaluate and analyse your effort and monitor the outcome periodically to ensure it’s achievement.

Part 2 (WEBSITE STRUCTURE REVIEW)
Clean design and Easy to Navigate - Avoid fancy design. Search Engines Robots do not like fancy stuff as these will burden its jobs to crawl and evaluate millions of documents each hour. Please take note, your prospects go on Web to find information they want and they do not look for ”beauty”. “Fancy” stuff tend to slow down site loading.

Searh Engines Friendly Site – Make your site structure and path understandable by “Search Engines Robots”. If you have dynamic URL links, rename them to a valid links

No Page Error – Remove all errors -Validate your site to ensure errors free to avoid being suspend.

Page Performance Review – Ensure Site loading speed. Surfers have no patience and there are too many out there for them to search for.

Your Website = Your Client Property – Build your site and write your contents for your prospects, your industries and your targeted market, not for yourself.

Part 3 (KEYWORDS RESEARCH & META TAG GENERATION)
Research on Search Keywords -Find the best keywords describes your business and products offered. The most searchable keywords terms by surfers.

Improve Keywords Prominence, Density & Proximity – Keywords at the beginning of your page. Total keywords contained within the total text the closeness between two or more keywords.

Meta Title -Make attractive and easy to understand title tag.

Meta Descriptions -Describe about your business wisely so that surfer understand well about your business.

Meta Keywords -Generate keywords set after research has been done. These keywords best describe what the surfers searching for.

Part 4 (H1 & H2 HEADING, ALT TAGS & ANCHOR TEXT)
H1 and H2 Heading – Apply H1 & H2 Tags in your source will be an additional points for ranking. Eg. http://www.rankexpert.co.in/SMO.html

ALT Tags -Most of the sites contain images, it will be advisable to put ALT Tags for all these images to make the site more Search Engines Friendly.

Keywords Rich Anchor Text-Anchor text for both external links and internal links is powerful elements for Search Engines Positioning.

Part 5 (SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION & ARTICLE MARKETING)
Search Engines Submission and Directories Submission – Submit Site manually to major Search Engines i.e Google, Yahoo and MSN including related industries directories

Social Bookmarks & Classified -Social book-marking helps to popularize your website in your community. Look for FREE classified Ads to increase website online exposures.

Blogs and Forums -Creates own blog to update your company news, and products. Participate in industries related forums, post your comments and thoughts. Provide a link back to your site.

Articles & Press Releases-If you have new products or services release. Write an article to talk about the best of it. Post it as a press releases to inform others and your interest community.

Part 6 (EVALUATION & MONITORING)
Monitor and Analyze – Analyze your site performance by adding in a tracking code to your site. Check your Search Engines Ranking periodically to ensure visibility of your site

Search Engines Optimization is not “one-time” job where you can leave it there forever, it will need frequent update of your CONTENT. Effort need to spend on updating and keep updating , monitoring and keep monitoring, evaluate and keep on evaluate.
